About Us
ROXANNA by Emely Roxanna
Roxanna is an up and coming luxury brand that specializes in ready-to-wear cocktail/party attire, swimsuits and hand made couture gowns. Our founder, Emely Roxanna is an emerging designer and stylist born in NYC to two Dominican immigrants. Her love for fashion was apparent from a young age and came about during her adolescent years. Growing up in a suburban community while being exposed to the urban city lifestyle, she felt awkward and different. She quickly learned to use fashion as a form of self expression and confidence building. Taking inspiration from her stylish mom and being taught the basics of sewing by her godmother, she would sketch in her diary and cut up her barbie’s outfits. By the age of 14, she asked her parents for her first sewing machine for Christmas. Her garment construction knowledge deepened in high school through design classes and pre-college courses at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Emely later went on to study Women’s Apparel Design abroad at LaSalle College in Montreal, Canada.
Over the years, Emely has gained experience in the industry through several internships, job opportunities and styling projects; One of them being part of the Fashion Designers of Latin America organization. She has worked hand in hand with internationally respected designers especially during NYFW, Miami Art Basel and Montreal FW through castings, fittings, and runway shows. Evidently, Emely started off creating custom birthday dresses and prom gowns for friends and family. Through social media and word of mouth, she was able to build a broader clientele base of her own. The great feedback has led her to expand into creating capsule collections involving swimsuits and cocktail attire… and the brand ROXANNA was born. Emely quickly grew a passion for promoting inclusivity and creating confidence in all different types of women through the brand. With that said, this is only the beginning. ROXANNA plans to expand and continue to grow into taking the ready-to-wear market by storm.
